Limited Materials Warranty
David’s Carpet & Tile warrants retail flooring sold by the company against defects in material and manufacturing for the life of the flooring.
If a material or manufacturing defect appears during the lifetime of the flooring, David’s Carpet & Tile will repair or replace the flooring in the affected room, up to the doorway, using new flooring from product lines currently carried by the company.
The original document states that the customer is entitled to a prorated allowance based on the length of time the flooring has been in use, calculated at “.03¢ (three cents) per square foot for each month the flooring has been in use,” plus applicable labor charges for replacement. Any credit toward replacement is based on the original purchase price of the flooring, less the applicable prorated charge.
Replacement flooring must be selected from flooring products costing at least as much as the original flooring.
Matting and packing are not covered under warranty.
Cushion Warranty
David’s Carpet & Tile warrants retail cushion against material and manufacturing defects for the following periods:
Better: Full 5 Years
Best: Lifetime of the Carpet
Ultimate: Lifetime of the House
If the cushion fails during the applicable warranty period, David’s Carpet & Tile will provide replacement cushion for the defective areas.
The customer is responsible for labor costs associated with replacement.
Labor Warranty
Retail flooring installation labor performed by an approved David’s Carpet & Tile subcontractor is warranted for one year from the date of installation when the flooring is used under normal residential conditions.
If a defect resulting from the original installation becomes evident during the warranty period, David’s Carpet & Tile will repair or replace the flooring in the affected room up to the doorway.
If flooring material must be replaced, the original document states that the customer is entitled to a prorated allowance based on the use of the flooring at a rate of 3¢ (three cents) per square foot for each month the flooring has been in use.
Warranty Exclusions & Conditions
The material and labor warranties do not cover damage resulting from misuse or external factors, including but not limited to fire or flood.
The warranties also do not cover loss of time, inconvenience, or consequential damages.
The warranties become null and void if anyone other than a subcontractor approved by David’s Carpet & Tile alters or changes the installation in any way.
The warranties:
Apply to residential use only
Are non-transferable
Cover only material installed at the original installation address
Remain valid only while the original purchaser owns the flooring/material
Require proof of purchase, which is the responsibility of the original purchaser
